Hotelschool The Hague alumna wins Worldwide Hospitality School Award for Best Hotelier

The Hague, Netherlands – 10 November 2017 –
Hotelschool The Hague is proud to announce that on 8 November, Claudia Pronk, Hotelschool The Hague Alumna and General Manager of the hotel Nira Alpina in Switzerland, won the Worldwide Hospitality School Award in the category Best Hotelier. Claudia graduated from Hotelschool The Hague in 1991. She is most proud of having successfully restructured the Nira Alpina in terms of its facilities, operations, offers and staffing, enabling better financial performance whilst not sacrificing guest satisfaction.

Existing for six years, the hotel is constantly improving its practices and they are now finding their best position in the marketplace. Claudia’s aim is to further enhance this by optimising the various partnerships they have.

Before she was General Manager of Nira Alpina, Claudia was General Manager of several Starwood/Le Méridien hotels in Amsterdam, Frankfurt and Paris and Le Méridien Hotel Des Indes in The Hague. Claudia and her team repositioned this “Grand Dame” after the extensive renovation and were awarded for their work at many occasions.

Claudia also did the opening of The Grand Mauritian at Mauritius and worked for Anantara in The Maldives and Bangkok. During her tenure at the Maldives, she was awarded for her results the Tiger Award, a prestigious Intrapreneur Award. Currently, Claudia is looking forward to further developing Nira Alpina and taking hospitality to the next level.
